ANP® have partnered with First Aid for Life to provide ALL students with access to Online First Aid Courses on Babies and Infants
And UK based photographers with access to Practical & Accredited First Aid Courses.
First Aid for Life’s Online courses are completely unique and a totally new concept in First Aid training allowing the student to learn these vital skills when it suits them. They consist of videos, step by step guidance, diagrams, internet links and downloadable pdfs to appeal to all learning styles.
The courses are produced, continually updated and verified by a team of medical, health and emergency first aid professionals. All courses comply with UK Resuscitation Council Guidance.
They fulfil the requirements for an Appointed Person First Aid Qualification and when online pre-learning is combined with a practical course, through a regulated first aid training provider, they will then provide students with a fully accredited qualification to be the First Aider in their workplace.
First Aid for Life partner with TQUK to provide accredited blended learning for First Aid at Work courses enabling UK based newborn photographers to undertake a third of their training as pre-learning online and two thirds in a practical course. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) fully supports this approach for all First Aid at Work qualifications in the UK.
Photographers in other locations are able to complete First Aid for Life's Online courses and then undertake a practical course with one of our other First Aid Partners or an approved local First Aid Training provider!
The Online First Aid courses constitute ideal pre-learning for people with English as a Second language who wish to gain confidence and skills to join a regulated course. And they are also perfect to refresh First Aid knowledge between practical sessions.

Emma Hammett
Emma Hammett established First Aid for Life in 2007, but was initially inspired much earlier, when nursing; as she repeatedly saw the difference prompt and appropriate first aid makes to someone’s prognosis.
Her key motivation came when working in the Burns Unit, looking after a little boy so badly burnt he needed skin grafts. Had his mother known basic First Aid skills, he might not even have needed to be admitted.
Emma’s sister and nephew both became paraplegics following accidents and it opened her eyes to the importance of accident prevention, management and support following an accident and an overwhelming need to empower more people with the skills and confidence to know how to help in those first vital seconds.
Emma is widely recognised as an authority on first aid matters and regularly writes for online and print publications and features in media.
Emma is first aid expert for the NCT, Mothercare, JoJoMaman Bebe, Baby London, Absolutely Mama, The Parent’s Directory, and frequently called upon as a TV spokesperson on Sky News, BBC, Channel 5 News. Emma featured regularly on the radio show the Rational Health Service.
