Continuing professional development' commonly abbreviated to ‘CPD' refers to the work-related learning and development that should continue throughout your career as a Newborn/Baby Photographer.
Professionals in some fields must complete mandatory CPD requirements in order to maintain their registration. For others, like the Newborn Photography Industry, it is entirely discretionary but no less important. Especially when you consider we are working with the most fragile human beings!
CPD is one of the key mechanisms by which high standards of professional practice and experience are maintained.
It covers a wide range of professional development options. ‘Formal CPD' involves activities such as participation in short courses that enhance or add to your skills, like The Certificate in Newborn Photography!
It includes activities such as workshops and attendance at conferences.
‘Informal CPD' includes learning new skills on the job and being mentored by somebody with more experience in your field.
Our courses have been carefully designed to provide up-to-date and practical education on Neonatal's, to ensure that students are primed to succeed in the professional world of Newborn photography.
Our comprehensive course materials have been developed by Newborn industry professionals so that they are specifically relevant to the work of Newborn Baby Photographers.
Kerryn is a qualified trainer and assessor; and most importantly, she has current experience and knowledge of the Newborn Photography industry. This means, she along with other contributors are currently working as Newborn Photographers or they will have recently been in that industry. Our trainer assessors interact with and are part of associations and groups for the industry they train and assess for and ensure that the information and guidance that is passed on to you, the student, is relevant, up to date and accurate.
Each of the training resources and assessment tools are designed to support the learning outcomes and performance criteria for each unit of work.

I am THRILLED to have completed my CERTIFICATE IN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY with the Academy of Newborn Photography.
I have had over 5 years of experience working & training as a professional newborn photographer, but up until now, there has not been an accredited course available in Australia for newborn photographers.
I have completed numerous newborn photography workshops, mentoring & training in the past but none of these training experiences came with a certificate to show my professional development.
So I am extremely happy to have completed this course & have something to show for my knowledge & experience!
I want my clients to be assured that I am committed to providing a safe & professional experience for them & their precious babies!
